A figurine commission includes:

• 2.5” handmade polymer clay figurine of your chosen character
  
• functional base*

*functionality included with most standard animals and special characters

How do I make an order?

Step 1: Choose your character type - this is the shape of the overall figurine:

• Animal (characters who can move into your town, special event/shop characters, game cross-overs, designs based on a real pet, animal-themed* original characters/OCs)

• Human (player characters)

*please note that original designs will be made in the style of AC, using similar shapes - I may not be able to accommodate all requests, get in touch with your design first if you're unsure!

Step 2: Select any additional items* you want added to the figurine (or leave blank):

• Small held item - an object in the left or right hand, such as a fruit or book (one held item per figure)
• Backpack
• Hat/hair accessory
• Glasses

*some animal characters may have held or worn items as part of their original design, if this is the case you do not need to select them here

Step 3: Checkout! Be sure to confirm your address details and payment options carefully.

Step 4: Once you've successfully purchased a commission slot, email any photos or references to contact@diycrossing.com and I'll work with you to confirm the design of the figurine. In-game photos from different angles are extremely helpful! Remember to include details like clothing, pose and expression if you want something in particular, otherwise I'll go with my best judgement.

Delays in references may postpone your crafting date, so please prepare them as soon as you can after purchase. Be aware that your design may need to be altered to suit my style and workflow, or incur additional fees for requests outside of my normal offerings - if I cannot accommodate your character design for whatever reason you'll be given the option to negotiate, choose a different character or receive a refund. Refunds will not be given once a design is confirmed and work has started.

How are they made?

Each figurine is hand-crafted from polymer clay and painted with acrylic paint, then set into a base and sealed with a protective semi-gloss. Additional accessories are made from paper or acetate where appropriate. These are art pieces, not toys, so please handle with care and protect from knocks and drops!

How long will the figurine take to make?

I aim to make each figurine within two months of placing your order, though this can vary depending on how many commissions are accepted. Commissions are generally made in the order received. If there are any excessive changes regarding your commission I'll let you know right away.

There aren’t any slots available, what should I do?

Be sure to check back frequently and look out for announcements on social media! If you want to buy multiple figurines you will need a slot for each one, but you may purchase multiple slots per opening. I do not currently accept pre-orders or keep a waiting list. Private commissions may be taken at my discretion but most orders are made through public openings.

I need something urgently - can I pay for priority?

Unfortunately I do not offer this service and cannot guarantee any delivery dates. If you’re buying something as a gift be sure to allow plenty of time for crafting and delivery, and where possible try to place your order multiple openings in advance in the event that you are unable to get a slot.

When will my figurine be despatched?

I aim to ship commissions 1-2 weeks after creation. This allows me time to finish, photograph, test and package figurines properly before they leave my care. Sometimes this can be a little longer if there are additional parts to add, or if bases are being made. If you have ordered multiple figurines or other shop items they will ship together, unless you notify me otherwise (additional postage cost may apply for split orders).

How are they delivered?

Will I receive customs charges?

I cannot be held responsible for any unexpected charges. Please check the customs limit for your country if you’re unsure.

Since 2015 I’ve crafted over 500 custom figurines, so you can be sure that experience and skill will be put into your commission. I am very critical of my work and continually strive to improve, backed by a small but genuine reputation. Positive relations with clients and supporters are what keeps me crafting, so I’ll always do my best to meet expectations.
